Local Delivery lets buyers receive items within days of the auction ending, offering convenience and allowing you to charge for a delivery fee. Sellers select the delivery option during item importing, buyers choose a delivery date and pay, and the system handles the rest with automated tracking and notifications.

Simply contact our support team to have this feature activated.

How it works:

  1. Activate Local Delivery

    • Contact Shipping Saint Support to have local delivery added as an option on your account.

  2. Enable Local Delivery During Import

    • Choose “Local Delivery” along with “Shipping” or “Pickup” when importing items.

    • Set the available local delivery dates. (Note: Shipping Saint requires a half day to pack—items imported after midday won’t be eligible for next-day delivery.)

    • Select a box size that you believe will best fit most of your buyers’ items from this auction. This selection is important, as it will be used as the default box size if our system is unable to determine the appropriate one automatically.

  1. Buyer Selects Delivery

    • Once the items are moved to the Prep stage and the buyer receives their first email and text notification, the Delivery option will become visible—but only if local delivery is available to their location. Our system supports local delivery for distances up to approximately 350 miles, depending on the area. If delivery is not available to the buyer’s location, the Delivery button and associated rate will not be shown at all.

    • Once the buyer selects the Delivery option, they can confirm their address, choose from the available delivery dates you provided during import, and proceed to pay for local delivery.

    • After payment is completed, the order will automatically move to the Pack stage.

  1. Pack Items

    • You’ll receive automated reminders to pack items before the scheduled pickup time. The latest you can pack is the night before the pickup date. If the items are not packed by then, the local delivery driver will not be dispatched until packing is completed. To ensure a smooth delivery process, all items must be packed no later than the night before pickup

    • If our system is unable to determine the appropriate box size, it will default to the average box you selected during import.

    • The star icon represents a suggested auto box size for the item. However, since you have the item, we trust your judgment to choose the most suitable box size—especially when considering all items being delivered together for the same buyer or invoice.

    • Fill out all information, such as driver pick-up and delivery notes, and double-check the information. (Note: You can change the delivery date if necessary, but remember that it is the date that was selected by your buyer.)

    • First, click Get Rates, then click Finished. Once both steps are completed, the items will move to the Print

  1. Print Labels

    • Once items are moved to the Print stage, you can print the label and attach it to the items. This helps ensure easy identification of the items and the buyer when the local delivery driver arrives for pickup.

    • As long as the items are packed by the evening before the scheduled pickup date, our delivery provider will be automatically notified that the items are ready for pickup.

  1. Pickup & Completion

    • The delivery partner picks up items using the designated reference numbers.

    • Your Buyer will also receive updates at each step, from packing to pickup to delivery.

    • The order will automatically move to the 'Shipped' stage once it is picked up by the local delivery driver
